A Wire Wrap Jeweler to check out....James Jewels

Last week I met, via the internet, James, of James Jewels, a fellow wire wrap jewelry artist.

James specializes in personalized wire name & word jewelry and sculpted pieces featuring faceted gemstones. I am stuck on his wire words & names.... I reccomend you check out his web site & ebay store, he has some beautiful wire sculpted gemstone rings listed this week...and an auction for a personalized name pendant! Not only is his work beautiful, his prices are great, & he does quality work! James also has links to fellow wire jewelers (including sculptedwindows), tutorials, & information about wire jewelry .

I know many of us look for personalized jewelry & charms for our creations & James is the answer! He utilizes sterling silver and Gold Filled wire to spell whatever you like...I was thinking this is a great idea for us bead addicts, doll artists, and collagers...To spell out a word or 2 in precious metal wire you can work into your designs---VERY COOL! The wheels have been turning in my head!

I have to finish my taxes before starting something new...before I make myself crazy!

Wire Wrapped Fossil Jewelry!!

I am loving these fossil ammonites! I have been wrapping many different sizes, shapes, & colors & all of them are extraordinary! before wrapping these fossils I hand clean, sand, & polish the back of each one to ensure it has a smooth clean back and lies flat when worn (a peeve of mine, I hate jewelry the doesn't hang or sit properly when worn). Ammonites are one of the prettiest focal pieces I think mother nature has made for us to enjoy. The back of these can be as pretty as the front; some of them even have opal-like ammolite in shades of red, gold, & green here & there on the back!

I was looking for fossil lore & most that I found was generic---many believe that it helps with memory...I have my own feelings about these 'stones.' I think they do a few things for us & anyone that sees them...

I think fossils stimulate our imagination and creativity and they have a way of bringing out the kid in anyone that sees them, especially when worn as jewelry. The fact that we can own & wear one of these creatures that is hundreds of millions of years old is cool! Not only are they cool they are BEAUTIFUL! So many colors, textures, and intricate patterns & each one is as unique as we are...who would have thought. I don't think we could have imagined them being so beautiful even when we were kids. They have a way of re-connecting us with our childhood dreams & memories and I think they remind us how beautiful nature is...past & present! I think that is why they are so captivating and perfect little amulets to wear and treasure!

Some of the fossils featured in our ebay store are:
  • Ammonite earrings & pendants
  • Trilobites earrings
  • Fossil dinosaur bone pendants
  • Fossil coral earrings
  • Rainbow Petrified wood pendants
  • Fossil shark tooth pendants
These fossils have a way of selling quickly & we will be restocking on a regular basis...if you have a request send it my way, I'll be happy to work on it for you!

Watermelon Tourmaline & Rose Quartz Pendant

This is a pendant I created this week...it features a watermelon tourmaline slice & a glowing rose quartz cabochon...what a pretty combination! I'm having fun with these multi stone pendants! The tourmaline was just too small to appreciate... the rose quartz brought it to life! And, the tourmaline being the darker color stone, still remains the focal-piece. I have to dig through my stones and come up with more combinations!!

A Double Stone Wire Wrapped Pendant!

It's been a while but I did it....I made a double stone wire wrapped pendant & it's a beauty! I don't make a lot of these as they are time consuming & I have to be in a very precise state of mind...but when I do create them I love them! This pendant features bloodstone & red jasper. Both stones are beneficial to the heart chakra and promote strength and stamina...nice stone to start the new year off with. This pendant also features a new material to me...sterling silver rope wire. It is a round wire that has been milled into a twisted design. I am learning how to work with it & I like it! It really looks beautiful in the jewelry...kind of gives it a bit of an ethnic flavor.

Mother Nature's Heart Pendant!

This is a new pendant I created & listed in our store today. Do you see a hidden heart within the pattern of this stone? (I hope you do or I'm losing my mind!) This is an outstanding Alunite cabochon wrapped in 14K gold filled wire. This cab is perfect for this time of year (Valentine's Day). The color and pattern you see is 100% natural...if this design was on canvas it would be hanging in an art gallery for sure...but Mother Nature has created it within a stone for us to admire and someone to treasure!

I love scenic stones! They are becoming harder to find or afford when you can find them!
