I'm in Etsy Treasury "Butterflies"

A huge "Thank You" to Deb's Crochet on Etsy for including one of my butterfly ladies in her BUTTERFLIES treasury! How can you not love butterflies!!

Please be sure to visit the treasury for a minute, and don't be afraid to comment. All us etsy artists need your support (and greatly appreciate it)! I'm sure the butterfly creations included will make you smile! Also, be sure to visit Debs Crochet, Deb creates beautiful crocheted items including the butterfly doily in the center of the picture above, as well as handbags, rugs, baskets, and more. Deb is from Florida, making me a little homesick for my old stomping ground Ft. Lauderdale.

The Key to My Heart...

This is a new twist on an "old" design and, I am in love with her!! I call her "The Key to my Heart Goddess." She is super vibrant red (cadmium red) polymer clay that has been antiqued with black acrylic. After stamping and forming her I pierced her heart with a brass metal key. She holds the key to her own heart... perhaps the creative side of her heart anyway! :)

Featured in Etsy Treasury.... HAIL TO THE RED, WHITE, & BLUE!!!

I was so surprised when I hopped online for a few minutes today to discover one of my Flag Lady Cameos featured in an Etsy Treasury called HAIL TO THE RED, WHITE, & BLUE!! This treasury was created by friend, and fellow artist, Kerri White of Beadworks by Kerri. It is a collection of American, red-white-&-blue creations on etsy. A great treasury with the 4th of July just around the corner!!!

A huge "Thank You" to BeadworksbyKerri on Etsy! Kerri is a local Pennsylvania bead and jewelry artist. We met online just over a year ago and have become great friends-- we're long overdue for a lunch date!! Please be sure to visit BeadworksbyKerri on etsy for beautiful beaded and beadwoven treasures!

A Week of Custom Creations!

The past couple of weeks I have been creating lots of custom jewelry! Necklaces, Pendants, and Earrings --and believe it or not I have been asked by the Queen of the PA Renaissance Fair to create a crown!! (Okay, it wasn't the Queen, it was her costume designer, Katie).

I wanted to share a few of the beautiful pieces that were sent to me to become jewelry. I love wrapping special pieces for others... it is so amazing seeing something that has been treasured become a wearable piece of art. Many times it is like christmas for me to reveal the finished piece... the anticipation of waiting to see if they love it and if I exceeded their expectations is awesome.

I also like the challenge of wrapping things I did not pick out. It can really push your brain and hands to try new things. Without realizing it I am often drawn to similar shapes and cuts, and when someone sends a stone they picked out it, can be quite challenging. It is a good way to get the brain working, expand my skills, and discover new designs and techniques. It can be overwhelming at times, when I'm faced with an awkward or unusual piece, but somehow it all seems to come together and work out. I carry ideas around in my head for days, the light goes off and bam, I'm running for my bench to get working on my idea -even if it's 2am!

The crown for The Queen is going to take a few weeks, it is one of the most challenging pieces I have been asked to create aside from an egg stand and a remote control holder! I will be sure to share some pictures of the journey. I just received her jewels and will be starting next week.

A huge thank you to those of you who have allowed me to wrap your treasures. I am honored to be asked and entrusted with pieces I know are special to you.
