Spring Inspired Beads!

Lots of new spring and summer inspired faces coming soon! I have been working on these Cuties over the the last few nights. Lots of pretty, luminous color...greens, peaches, corals, teal, aquas, purples & more. Fresh colors without being too pastel or over the top bright. The actual faces are matte light flesh clay--they look like porcelain bisque set among pearly and glossy spring colors. I think I'm going to have to keep a few of these for ME!!

These beads aren't finished quite yet, they need another night or two. I like to secure the little flowers & adornments with clay to add strength and prevent them from catching when you're wearing them. They just need the finishing touches before they find their new homes!

Gem Show Exhaustion!

Whew! Today I went to a gem show in Philadelphia & it was exhausting! I never say 'NO' to a show---I love looking for new stones and treasures to wrap! I have to admit though...going to shows can be exhausting! So many stones, so many people, so many ideas running through my head, so many back breaking, short tables to lean over! I don't know how Ian puts up with me at shows....he drove to & from, waited in line for me, and helped out for several hours-- before he made his escape to the car to find a cheeseburger.

All that work & I come home with a bag of rocks---some might think I'm crazy....perhaps I am...but the minute I have a chance...I'll be ready to do it again....just not today--I'm tired!

Hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend! I've been working on springtime clay beads...hoping they will help bring some warm spring weather. It's been COLD out here!

Chakra Jewelry....

It's been a while since I posted an entry....I was caught in a whirlwind of organizing the endless pile of receipts and paperwork I accumulated in 2007 for TAXES! I'm almost done and I'm going to CELEBRATE...if I have any money left! Hah!!

Now that the mess is almost behind me, I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel & getting back in the groove! I have been working on new chakra jewelry! I posted a bunch of pieces in my ebay store and they flew...

This is one of my favorites! This bracelet has a set of chakra gems hidden within free-form coils of heavy gauge sterling silver. I love the weight of this piece and the unpredictable turns of wire...the gems are like little treasures trapped inside each coil. I have a bunch of newbies I'm working on listing this week....I'll be sure to put a few pictures up here for all to see!
