New Wire Wrapped Christmas Cameo Pendants

Is it that time of year already? Yep, it is...as I like to call it...we're in the 'Embers'... The months ending in 'ember' begin the insanity of colder weather (here up north) & the holiday rush! (Although today it was a record breaking 92 degrees outside in Upstate NY). I guess I made some cold weather pieces to forget about the heat!

These wire wrapped pendants feature porcelain cameos of various Santa Claus'. All of these cameos are fired to ensure the decals will not scratch off and I have made these with solid sterling silver or 14K gold filled wire. They are durable & will last a lifetime!

It is so depressing to look in your jewelry box to find your holiday pieces have deteriorated to the point they can't be worn any longer.... I have so many 'dead' pieces of jewelry that I keep for sentimental reasons... none of them were cheap and yet they peeled or self destructed to the point they are unwearable. That is a peeve of mine!

A new batch of Wire Wrapped Spider Pendants

I took a break from packing to make a few new Spider Pendants! These are so cute--whether you like spiders or not--you can't help but smile when you see them! This is one of those pieces of jewelry people seem compelled to reach out and touch...I've had several people grab for mine when I wear him. Click on the picture to see these little guys up close. I couldn't resist posing them on a Maple leaf from our yard. If you like unique jewelry be sure to check these out in my store the only place you find them, as they are an original design!

Once we are settled (after our move to Lancaster, PA in few days) I will be working on some spider webs....I never would have thought the spiders in our cellar would inspire me!

It's the Little Things that can Make you Smile the Biggest!

Last week I received an email that made my day! With the stress of packing & relocating it was the perfect pick-me-up....

As most know, my passion & full time 'employment' is creating wire wrapped jewelry & polymer clay faces. I sell on ebay (sculptedwindows) and I am slowly working toward launching my own website. I have sold thousands of pieces of jewelry & clay via ebay & at art shows....

I often wonder where all of these little creations land... if they are loved... appreciated... comfortable... helpful... lost... or who knows! It's just fun to wonder about their fate - and every now-and-then I actually learn of it. I know how much time I spend working on all of these little pieces, and where or why I made them, or why I bought particular stones... and I always hope they will be enjoyed.

Last Thursday, I received the NICEST email from Carol! She sent a thank you & a quick picture from her desk... she just received & is wearing her Sculpted Windows Jewelry! She looks great & I am so happy she's enjoying it & that she took a minute to share a picture & a thank-you with me!!! She graciously gave me permission to share her photo with you! I wish I knew how to insert a big smiley face here...because I would! It's amazing how 'little' things can make the day.. or the week when you work from home!

Believe it or not... in 2 + years I have sold over 2,500 creations and have only heard from about 2 dozen customers outside of the ebay feedback system. I have spoken on the telephone with 4! Crazy! Funny how a little communication can bring a bit of reality and humanity to the bleak world of cyberspace.

New Quartz Crystal Rings Coming!

I 've been working on several new wire wrapped quartz crystal rings! This collection has grown over the last couple of weeks! Each ring features a Tibetan quartz crystal focal adorned with coils of sterling silver or gold and various gemstones! Many of the crystals have phantoms and unusual inclusions and terminations. This is one of my favorite ring designs! I have always loved rings with natural quartz crystals in them...they are so organic. I created my first one in gold last night...it really looks elegant!

I have also been working on a new store homepage...for a preview click on a link and tell me what you think! My dilemma with the store has always been the confusion of the clay mixed with the jewelry....I hate everything lumped in together and all over the place when you visit my store....so, I am trying to figure out a way to separate my two crazy categories of creations! I'm just not sure if the new page will be too sterile. If anyone has any suggestions to help me solve this dilemma send them my way! My HTML & computer skills are limited... I'm doing the best I can here & learning along the way!

A Few Thank Yous!

I need to shout out Thank You to a couple of people who made my day last month...an entry long overdue! I get no kickbacks, from these folks...just want to thank them for really going above & beyond to make my day in this sometimes frustrating world!

First...Looking for Ancient Coins?? You must check out www.janusnumismatics.com. I have ordered coins through this seller on ebay & have always been happy with my purchases. His coins are guaranteed, come with a COA, and & he provides a great info on his coins. Recently, a coin was missing from my shipment & Ilya at janusnumismatics.com was WONDERFUL... Polite, Fast, Professional, & took care of the error immediately. I'm glad I called...I had a chance to 'meet' this seller and appreciate what he does even more...I could tell he loves working with coins as much as I enjoy creating jewelry & clay. I never thought of restoring & researching coins as an art until I met this gentleman....so, thank you Ilya!

Second...Live in Western, NY and need a great haircut? You must check out www.iconhairsalon.com! I have lived here 2 years and had more bad haircuts than you could ever imagine (honestly)...finally, I found NINA at Icon Salon & got the best haircut ever! This woman takes hair seriously...as a Redken performing artist she is truly an artist with hair! She rescued me from a disastrous haircut I had gotten 2 weeks earlier at another salon....amazing how a good hairdo can take 10 years off & make you feel like a new woman! So, thank you Nina!
